Two training
workshops were held at AfricaRice, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – the first one,
15–18 August, covered rice pathology and simulation modeling techniques and the
second workshop, 19–27 August, focused on rice disease isolation and
purification techniques.
These courses were
conducted as part of the project ‘Mitigating the impact of climate change on
rice disease resistance in East Africa’, which is being carried out by
AfricaRice in partnership with the University of Göttingen, IRRI and national
partners in Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, with support from German development
cooperation.
